 Executive Director – Nashua Soup Kitchen & Shelter

Key Responsibilities:

The Executive Director provides professional administrative leadership to the agency, including overseeing all supervisory staff, the fulfillment of NSKS’s goals of ensuring that no Nashua family goes hungry and working tirelessly to meet the capital requirements of that task. In addition, the Executive Director is deeply involved in all aspects of fundraising, from grant writing and publicity to participating in annual fundraisers such as the NSKS Road Race (April) and Dinner Auction (November).

Additional Responsibilities:

Preparing annual budget; developing agency policies and procedures; enforcing agency rules for clients and employees; overseeing staff development and training; developing long term strategic plans; promote community relations and awareness of services; assisting Board in planning monthly meetings and carrying out Board directives; participating in state and local advocacy.

Requirements:

Full understanding of client needs; ability to work in team environment; willingness to contribute at multiple levels of service. Knowledge and experience of working with individuals with alcohol and substance abuse issues, mental illness, and homelessness. Ability to work with diverse socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds. Strong organizational and communications skills.

Bachelor’s Degree or higher and 7-10 years of experience in human services field with minimum three years supervisory experience.

DIRECT CARE, Part time, Shelter:

Looking for a part-time person to provide coverage of the emergency shelter.

Requires knowledge, understanding and experience in working with low income and homeless persons. Ability to set limits, enforce rules, diffuse crisis situations, and use good judgment and initiative in problem solving are considered essential in performing the duties of this position. The ability to work with people of differing socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds is mandatory. Have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, to communicate, and express ideas effectively. Have flexibility and a sense of humor.

•Part-time On-Call Kitchen Staff

Requirements:

Duties
The ability to work with people of differing socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds. Have the ability to follow guidelines for meal prep; to communicate effectively with volunteers; oversee sorting and placement of daily deliveries; coordinate meal service in a fast paced kitchen. Have flexibility and a sense of humor.

Responsibilities:

Provide coverage for a Soup Kitchen and Food Pantry, 

as called, as needed.

We have openings for both evening and overnight shifts.

Responsibilities:

Provide awake overnight OR evening coverage for an emergency homeless shelter, as called, as needed.
