Empty Bowls 2013
Join us for an evening in the spirit of those who truly have empty bowls. What is Empty Bowls? Empty Bowls is a fundraiser for the Nashua Soup Kitchen & Shelter. It is a collaborative effort of students from the National Art Honor Society, Nashua Teachers and area restaurants , bakeries and grocery stores. Purchase a ticket at either Nashua High School South Main Office or the NSKS Business Office. That ticket, when you arrive at the NHSS Cafeteria on February 20, allows you to select a clay bowl from the hundreds that have been handcrafted specifically for this event. Gather with family and friends in the cafeteria and select from the wide variety of soups that have been donated by area eateries. You will use your bowl to be served the soups you choose. Students wash your bowl between servings. The bowl is yours to take home at the end of the evening. There will also be various breads and beverages to enjoy. Live music is provided by the NHSS Jazz band under the direction of Tony Courounis. The students have a bake sale and a silent auction to round out the evening. Last year was a sold out event so we recommend you get your tickets in advance. Here's a more in-depth article from the Union Leader.
